ZendCon UnCon
The PHP Community has always stressed the importance of getting involved and sharing knowledge and best practices. At ZendCon you'll get a chance to step up and share your knowledge and skills with everyone at the conference by taking part in the ZendCon UnCon. UnCon sessions are run separately from the main tracks and provide an opportunity to share additional topics of interest . Whether you're an attendee, a conference speaker or sponsor, you're welcome to step up and share with the community.
UnCon session types
- There are two types of UnCon sessions you can choose of: regular talks or lightning talks. regular talks are sessions of approximately 50 minutes with 10 minutes for questions and answers.
- Lightning talks are short sesssions of approximately 20 minutes without questions and answers.
Content
It doesn't really matter what you present as long there's a link with PHP or related technologies. You can talk about PHP frameworks, projects you're involved with, best practices - and have tutorial style session, a round table discussion or just continue a conversation started from the main tracks. It's your show, so you may fill it as you please. The hotter the subject, the more people you will draw to your session.
Registration
There's no pre-registration. At ZendCon you'll find a white board with time slots near the UnCon rooms. Check out the time slot that are available and best match your own schedule and write your name and title of your session after that time slot. That's it. You're registered. It's that simple.
Each conference day will begin with a clean white board, so every day there's a new chance to register. Come early and claim your spot! If you want to speak at these UnCon sessions, you might want to prepare a couple of slides, print out schema / questionnaires or have an online app ready, when you come to the conference.
Be sure to follow @ZendCon on twitter (http://twitter.com/ZendCon) as it will announce the sessions, change of schedule, even live feedback from within the UnCon sessions! Also check out www.zendcon.com/UnCons where the schedule will be published.
Step up to the UnCon - share your thoughts, ideas, knowledge and best practices and contribute to the PHP Community!
