The 2011 Zend PHP Conference will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. Located south of San Francisco in the center of Silicon Valley, the Convention Center is a high-tech meeting complex created by the technology businesses that surround it.

The Santa Clara Convention is located adjacent to US Highway 101 and is easily accessible from the San Jose, San Francisco, and Oakland International airports.

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS

The Zend PHP Conference 2011 host hotel will be the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara. The Hyatt Regency is attached to the Convention Center and features spacious accomodations with oversized work desks, a 24-hour business center, WI-FI internet access throughout the property three restaurants.

Rooms at Hyatt the ZendCon rate are SOLD OUT on several nights, with limited availability on other nights.  We have secured a second option – the AVATAR HOTEL, located just blocks from the Santa Clara Convention Center – at 4200 Great America Parkway. In addition to FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE, the hotel features free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, a heated pool, a fitness center and many other amenities.

Rates are $ 85.00/night for October 15, 16, 17 & 20, and $ 95.00/night for October 18 & 19. Room rates are subject to occupancy tax of 9.5%, plus a $ 1.00 per night District Improvement Fee, plus California Tourism assessment fee of 0.065%.

Transport info from San Francisco

TRANSPORTATION

The Santa Clara Convention Center is located south of San Francisco in the center of Silicon Valley and is easily accessible from the San Francisco International airport by car or public transport.

Driving:

From San Francisco International Airport (Interstate 101 South) Follow San Francisco Int'l. Airport's exit signs to I-101 South towards San Jose. Take I-101 South approximately 30-40 minutes and exit at Great America Pkwy. Turn left at Great America Pkwy. The Convention Center is at Great America Pkwy. and Tasman Ave. You can find the Convention Center Parking Garage by exiting Great America Pkwy. at the Hyatt Regency's 2nd driveway at Bunker Hill Rd. Convention Center parking is FREE.

Public Transport:

Amtrak
Amtrak's station in Santa Clara is located just a few blocks away from the Santa Clara Convention Center and Great America theme park, beneath Tasman Avenue. The address is Stars & Stripes Drive at Tasman Overpass. The Santa Clara stop is on the Capitol Corridor route with service to/from Sacramento. There are seven trains daily. Monday - Friday Train Schedule to/from Santa Clara:
Trains arrive in Santa Clara from Sacramento and points in between four times daily at 8:18 a.m., 9:08 a.m., 3:33 p.m., and 8:33 p.m. Trains depart Santa Clara for Sacramento and points in between at 6:50 a.m.; 9:52 a.m.;12:52 p.m., and 5:52 p.m.

Caltrain

Caltrain is a commuter train along the peninsula from San Francisco to San Jose. It has stops at every city along the way. Caltrain is currently operating seven days a week. (800) 660-4287.

You can take Caltrain from San Francisco to Santa Clara. From San Francisco, take Caltrain south to the Santa Clara station. The Santa Clara station is located directly across from Santa Clara University.

If you are going to the Santa Clara Convention Center or Great America theme park, you will have to transfer at Caltrain's Mountain View station. At Caltrain's Mountain View station, take the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Light Rail to Santa Clara's Great America station.
