Why

ZendCon & OpenEnterprise is the premier open source conference designed to teach and share practical experiences from the front lines of enterprise environments, giving you the opportunity to speak in front of technical business leaders, strategists, and developers seeking the best knowledge around the operational advantages of open source.

As a speaker, you have the opportunity to get in front of an eager and passionate audience open to learning about what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to PHP and open source, and exploring ideas through engagement and conversation. This is your chance to tell everyone what you’ve learned and enrich our community of enterprise technology practitioners.

We’re committed to creating a conference that is as inclusive as possible, allowing everyone, from speaker to attendee, opportunities to showcase their enthusiasm, talent, and knowledge from wherever they’re from, and accepting the groups they identify with. We’re also committed to ensuring the conference is a place where ideas are exchanged, old friends get together, new friends meet, and harassment is not tolerated.

Speaker package

We’re committed to bringing together the best speakers from all around the world to share their knowledge. To make this possible, we provide a travel and accommodation package allowing selected speakers. All accepted speakers receive:

Full conference pass (conference and tutorials)

Lunch, receptions, and activities included in a full conference pass

For session: A podium-mounted microphone, a 16:9 aspect ratio projector, and a Wi-Fi connection

Speakers for sessions only: Round-trip airfare + 2 complimentary hotel nights (both must be arranged through the conference organizers)

Speakers for tutorials plus sessions: Round-trip airfare + 3 complimentary hotel nights (must be arranged through the conference organizers)

Although Wi-Fi is available, it is strongly suggested that you reduce any dependency on the in-house internet connection as much as possible.

Topics

We’re looking for sessions that teach and share practical experiences from the front lines of enterprise environments, covering a wide range of topics that focus on solving real-world, enterprise-class problems. Our audience includes technical business leaders, strategists, and developers looking to learn from case studies and best practices around the application of open source to transform their business.

We encourage you to think outside the box to come up with your own unique talks. Here are some ideas:

Machine learning & AI

PHP frameworks

Blockchain beyond cryptocurrency

Enterprise PHP

Operationalizing business practices

Integration and federation techniques

Enterprise web stack

Self-healing & ephemeral environments

Building & managing APIs

PHP 7 & beyond

Serverless architectures

We strongly encourage more than one submission on more than one topic. The more submissions you contribute, the more options you give us to choose you as a speaker. Be sure your talk title and abstract define the exact topic you want to speak about and what you hope people will learn from the session. We will not hunt down missing details from a submission.
