Zend/PHP Conference and Expo

Wiki: UnCon_WhatIsIt

Speaking at a normal conference is straightforward:

You submit a proposal based on a Call for Papers.

The presentations are selected according to super-secret criteria.

If you’re accepted, you slap together your Powerpoint/Keynote slides, rehearse, and standing in front of an adoring audience hanging on your every word.

If you’re not accepted, you attend other presentations knowing that yours was better than this one. I mean come on, he hasn’t even used SPL IteratorIterators!?

An UnCon is different. Way different.

Your proposal isn’t just a paragraph and a bio, it’s a pitch.

The selection criteria aren’t secret, it’s a semi-public vote.

If know something about the topic, you are encouraged to speak up.

If your session isn’t interesting, people are encouraged to find one that is.

Oh… and slides are optional.

So what are you waiting for?

Put your ideas where you mouth is and tell us about something you think is interesting: UnCon_Pitches!
